Had breakfast at Alfie’s again today, been here a few times and always a great experience. Ordered the corn fritters as usual. The poached egg was out of this world, and the bacon + smashed avo combo just worked perfectly. Service is quick, and the latte was spot on too.Only downside is the price (around $26–27 for brekky), which is a bit steep. Would be nice to see a few more affordable options around $15–20. But tbh, the quality makes it worth it.
I actually just had the best ham and cheese toastie in my 40 years of existence. How is a basic toastie made with so much flavour?! And the coffee is always a hit!
We have been getting coffee from here forever! Delicious. We finally decided to sit and have breakfast there a couple of months ago. It exceeded our expectations! Flavour bomb, old school tasty breakfast. Nothing too fancy to change up an OG breakfast too much.So good, I complimented the chef. I’m very fussy believe me.We’ve since been back 3 more times for Breakfast & absolutely has become our go to!It’s also a very comfortable environment to have my 2.5 year old Son at.
The service was quite poor. The staff member who attended us seemed to be finishing her shift and rushed through everything with a somewhat rude and uninterested attitude. It was difficult to feel comfortable with that kind of service.The food was also below expectations. Considering the prices, the quality just didn’t match. The nachos were not properly prepared, the cheese was only half-melted, and the orange juice tasted like the oranges were on the verge of going bad.We understand we might have arrived close to closing time, but that doesn’t justify the lack of attention or poor quality of the food. If service and product quality can’t be guaranteed at that time, then the place should simply close earlier.
I got takeaway corn fritters and they were soo mushy and bland. After a few bites I started not feeling very well at all and ended up being sick.. Very small portion for the price. On a slightly more positive note, my husband got the eggs Benny and although the taste was fine, for almost $30 to have the portion he got, one slice of toast and one slice of bacon was quite poor.. We have gotten these items from alfies many times before and thoroughly enjoyed but unfortunately this time was way off the mark. If I hadn't ended up sick I would have brushed it off. I hope we have a better time next time as we have many times before
