Had breakfast at Alfie’s again today, been here a few times and always a great experience. Ordered the corn fritters as usual. The poached egg was out of this world, and the bacon + smashed avo combo just worked perfectly. Service is quick, and the latte was spot on too.Only downside is the price (around $26–27 for brekky), which is a bit steep. Would be nice to see a few more affordable options around $15–20. But tbh, the quality makes it worth it.
Waited for near 20 mins for a take away coffee while Barnstaple made coffee for all in house orders 1 at a time and ran each individual cup. Zero runners or help at peak lunch time Saturday..A warning of wait times would have been nice. And more than 1 person serving tables and making coffee and running coffee and taking orders..
Staff were pleasant, professional and our drinks were served very quickly. The disappointment came when we tasted our two 'hot' beverages which were actually barely luke warm and a bit on the watery side (we also noticed others had downed their hot beverages in a few gulps, probably cause theirs was just luke warm too}. PB that was supplied was a stingy amount and barely enough for one slice of toast let alone two. Food and drink let down the great front end staff and I hope they change this for future customers.
$13.71 for a takeaway hot chocolate and muffin!Hot chocolate tasted ok but was only luke warm.I'm still looking for the rasberry and white chocolate in my muffin - it's almost non existent.I know prices have gone up, but this is ridiculous. At the least, provide quality products to match the price.Staff were fine.
Great service, very friendly staff. Calamari was very fresh, served with a lovely salad.
